Eli sat at the table with his aunt, Jacci, her parents, and her little brother. They had just left to go to Jacci's uncle's house where the rest of the family was dancing. Eli walked in with Jacci and immediately was washed over with the sound of a loud game of dominoes, a Tyler Perry play on the TV in the living room, and jeers and cheers at the small TV displaying the Thanksgiving football game in the kitchen. "Hey Baby J! Come over here and sit down! You too sir! Sit on down!" "Hey Uncle Kenneth! This is Eli." "Aw I've heard some good things bout you from Jaci. She talk bout you all the time! You play dominos?" Eli shook his hand and nodded. "Yes sir." Jaci's cousin yelled out. "Hey! Baby J's man say he can play? Ha ha you got a good one this time! Let's see how good a catch he is." "Shut up, Jaylon!" She slapped him, but not too hard, and sat down next to Eli. "OOH MAMA! BABY J HITTIN FOLKS AND MESSIN AROUND WIT ELI! YOU BETTA GET HER!" Jaylon's mom, Alicia, came up to them. She hugged them all. "Hush boy and leave Jaci alone. Don't mind him Eli, he jus crazy like his daddy. You beat his tail aright?" "Yes mam." Eli nodded and played. "Twenty-five." "Oh ok I see ya now. Looks like Baby J's man knows how to play!" "Hush boy! What I tell you bout yo mouth? Like I said, beat him good Eli." "Yes mam" "Ain't no need to say sir or mam like you don't know us. You in our family now. Jus call us Aunt, Uncle, or whatever. Welcome to the family, Eli." After that, Eli knew that he had found a family, a true family.
