The teacher called the names. "Kanda Markus Childers."she called. It was time. Wait. Tex told himself. You'll get the b****** in his "moment of glory". He has five full scholarships. You won't be needin em b****. Hope you can get a scholarship...in H***. I hope you burn. I hope when you burn you think of me and how I wasted my life in there getting cut and beaten by the others in Juvie. I almost died in there because of you. Tex took aim.

R.J. saw Tex and yelled "K!" He jumped in front of him as soon as Tex pulled the trigger. Dead center. Everyone was screaming as Tex pushed his was to K-Mar who was kneeling by R.J. He reloaded the gun. He looked around and saw the chaos. He saw the police surround them. He aimed at K-Mar. "This is it, K. Adios." He pulled the trigger...at his head. Tex fell with a thud and K-Mar saw his eyes close. It was over. He turned back to R.J. who's eyes were closed as well. Zoey, Qiana, Blaze, Payton, Shane and Alec rushed to them. Zoey cried on his chest. "No! Why him! Why in H*** did it have to be him!" His parents came and his mother picked up the limp body of her son. "No! Not my baby! Not my boy! God please not my baby!" Then R.J. coughed and his eyes fluttered. They opened half way and he motioned for K-Mar. K stepped forward. "You didn't lie about that Jesus guy." R.J. pulled out a sterling silver cross, a gift from K-Mar after he got saved. It had a single dent where the bullet had hit in the middle of the charm. "Wasn't luck. It was Him. Thanks to you, I know that." R.J. sat up and his parents and Zoey hugged him. "Man I knew you weren't gone. Softie Shane was over here upset but I knew!" R.J. laughed at Alec's lie. He saw the tears in all their eyes and felt them sting his own.They took him to the hospital to check him out and they determined he passed out through the sharp impact of the bullet. They continued the graduation three days later and the graduates said their goodbuys. K-Mar was valedictorian and Payton was salutatorian. Here is K's speech:
"Through the years, we've all had a taste of everything: sadness, hardships, and coming of age. But as we counted down to this day, this bittersweet day, we helped each other to make it. We are all lucky to have made it to the next chapter of our lives. Yes, some said that we wouldn't be here today except to watch a small group of fellow students march on but look at how wrong they were! In the words of Oprah Winfrey, the ability to triumph begins with you. I beleive that, mainly because if you look around today, all of us graduated, all of us have at least one scholarship, and all of us are here right now, waiting for this long awaited time to come. We were successful through all the high waters that anyone or anything could throw at us. So we have truly earned the title: CLASS OF 2010!"
