Five Days LeftPosted by Sylent on Thursday, June 17, 2010
"You did WHAT?!?" K-Mar couldn't believe what R.J. had just told him. "I don't know man. It was just a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing! I don't even remember what I was thinking except 'Seven days left.' and I told her an---" "Wai wai wait. You told her? R.J. what were you thinking? No. Were you thinking?" Then K saw that he'd said the wrong thing. "Aw man I'm sorry. I know how you feel but you don't have to do stuff like that anymore. I'm not gonna let him get to you R.J." R.J. sat down on the bed and put his head in his hands. Finally he looked up at K-Mar "I'm not the sappy type man but ever since Tex turned on us, you've been like...like a...father to me. Thanks K." "But there's one thing you do have to do. You and Zoey need to talk it out. But don't talk about how it was or any of that stupid crap. You need to talk about the 'what if's'." R.J. nodded. He knew the "what if's" were but the first one flooded his mind and stayed: What if she's pregnant?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Oh gosh Zoey, you didn't!" Isn't that funny? Payton and Qiana had the same reaction as K-Mar. "But why did you do it?" Payton was clueless about Tex going after K-Mar and R.J. so Qiana and Zoey told her."But Zoey, sex isn't a game or a goodbye gift. You don't get a receipt so you can't take it back. You can't just start over and everything be the same." Payton lectured. "I know Payton! Don't freakin yell at me! We're not in sex ed!" Qiana threw a glare at Payton then turned back to Zoey, who was crying. The two hugged her. "What am I gonna do? What if we get an STD or what if I get pregnant?" Qiana looked up at her. "You did use protection, right?" "Of course we did. We're not stupid." Payton spoke up. "But you know that you need to talk to him about those what if questions. It's really between you and R.J." Qiana was brushing Zoey's hair out of her face. "But even if it doesn't go well, you know we'll be here for you." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Zoey and R.J. decided it was time to talk. "Hey." "Hey." "Um...you ok?" "Yea. Qiana says we need to talk though...about...you know." "I know. I was thinking about some really scary 'what if' things." Zoey was surprised. "You too?" "Yea. K says we need to start planning for the 'what if'..." Zoey looked down. "What if I'm pregnant?" "Yea. What if you got pregnant?" They sat down on a bench in the park. "Well I...guess we could start...with um names?" R.J. stuttered. "We can start for a girl i guess?" The two talked names for a while and then they went to talking about how they would support the baby. "I could get a job and you could go get your degree so you can be a lawyer like you wanted. Then if I have enough to go to school, I can go to a Tech college and maybe get a better job so I can support all of us." Zoey leaned her head on his shoulder. "But I don't want you to overwork yourself, babe. I mean we don't even know if we're having a baby. And even if we do have one, I wont let you do all of the work. I'm gonna get a job too and I'll help support our family." "No. I don't want you to get tiered and not be able to spend time with it. I love you and, if you are pregnant, I love our baby too so don't worry." Zoey kissed R.J.'s neck. He shuddered, remembering what he'd caused between them. He felt guilty. After all they had already been through, he went and caused confusion. Just when he was about to pour out tears and confessions, Zoey said something that would make his day just a little bit better: "If I'm pregnant, at least I know that with a father like you, me and the baby will be alright."
